The Horse Auction is
completely automated.
1. Register. If you have already registered for other
Bidbook auctions, the program
already has your user name and password. If you
have forgotten it, you can click
on "Forgot User Name" The program will require
your email address and send
you the information you need to log on to Bidbook.
2. Make a Bid
The
auction will show you the minimum bid you may place. You may accept
the minimum amount to be bid, or bid a higher amount. If you bid a
higher
bid, the program will automatically hold it as a Proxy Bid and increase
the
every time someone raises your bid. The program will only bid for
you up
to the amount you have entered.
When you log in after registering, the program will take you to the bid
page.
After you have entered the amount
you wish to bid, click Place A Proxy Bid.
Bids can only be placed in
increments of $100. If your bid is higher than the
minimum amount listed for
the bid, the program will automatically retain your bid
and
automatically bid for you each time someone
overbids you until it reaches
the maximum you are willing to bid. If
you simply bid the amount
shown in the
Your Bid box, and click Place A Proxy Bid, your bid
will be shown and the next
bidder will have to bid $100 more to overbid you.
Clicking "Place A Proxy Bid" is
what makes the bid.
B. To place a
Proxy Bid, Click
"PLACE PROXY BID". The screen will go
to a page that
will confirm your bid. It will say "Proxy Bid Confirmation".
Scroll to
the bottom of the page and click on "Place Bid"
PROXY BID IS THE
HIGHEST AMOUNT YOU ARE WILLING TO BID ON THE
HORSE. IF SOMEONE HAS PLACED A PROXY BID THAT IS
HIGHER
THAN YOUR BID, THEIR BID WILL AUTOMATICALLY OVERRIDE YOUR
BID.
If the bid is not higher than yours, you will become the
high bidder.
3. The Auction will automatically send you a confirmation of your
bid
4. The Auction will also automatically send you a notice when
someone overbids
you, so you may increase your bid, if you want.
5. When the auction is over, the winner will be emailed a notice
that they are the
top bidder and the amount at which they got the
horse.
6. The auction will begin closing at
3:00PM. CST on Saturday,
April 4.
7. The NAPHA office will contact you when the auction closes, to arrange
for
payment of your bid. You may pay with MasterCard, Visa,
American Express
or a check.
