Don Diego is one of our breeds all-time great
stallions. The son of *HNS Domingo, he has
proven his greatness by winning the coveted
Champion of Champions Breeding Stallion title
at three PPHRNA National Shows, under three
different judges. He won the 1992 PPHRNA
Nationals and the 1994 Nationals. In 1997 he
again won the title giving him the Peruvian
Breeds top award: Laureado Champion of
Champions Breeding Stallion. There is none
other like him. Don Diego has all the
characteristics of a great Peruvian sire. He is
short coupled, superbly gaited with incredible
brio and wonderful temperament. His light,
smooth gait has prompted riders to say,
"He is like riding a butterfly". His bloodlines are
from the "King of  Kings". His great grand
parents, Sol de Oro (V)  and Sultana produced
the great Peruvian stallions AEV Regional and
Caramelo. One of the few stallions to be
syndicated in the United States, Don Diego
was acquired in 1997, by Leigh Hampton who
bought out his syndication and has used him to
build a herd of wonderfully gaited horses.
He is now standing at Bill and Linda Virgins in
Safford, Alabama. This 20 year old stallion will
